Hemoglobin is a protein in red blood cells that carries oxygen to body's organs and tissues and transports carbon dioxide from organs and tissues back to lungs. Low or High amount of hemoglobin in blood can cause different types of diseases like iron deficiency, liver disease, kidney disease, lung disease, etc. Hemoglobin test is performed by pathologists.
